Vita
Margriet Buchberger studied at the Verdi Conservatory in Milano with Prof. M. Hayward and finished her musical training in Würzburg. After receiving her degree in vocal performance from the University of Music Würzburg, she subsequently studied repertory with Cheryl Studer, Krisztina Laki, and Edita Gruberova. She received the Cubec scholarship for young singers, a foundation by Mirella Freni and a scholarship by the International Association of Wagner Societies. From Early to Contemporary Music: With her broad repertory, Margriet Buchberger has made the stages and concert venues of Europe her home. The soprano is a regular guest at Associazione Mozart Italia, the Mozartwochen hosted by Mozarteum University Salzburg. She sings at international festivals like Schubertiade in Dänemark/Roskilde, Händel-Festspiele Halle, Internationale Mai-Festspiele Staatstheater Wiesbaden, Mittelrhein Musikfestival in Germany and the Stagione Sinfonica Concertistica of the Arena di Verona. Margriet performed in Turku and Helsinki with the ensemble “Musicians of the King‘s Road” and sang a concert dedicated to W.A. Mozart at the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. She cooperated with Italian conductor and pianist Leone Magiera for solo recitals at the “Teatro La Fenice“ in Venice. In the 2019/20 season she was engaged to performe in a series of concerts with the ensembles La Cetra & Venice Baroque Orchester under the direction of M° Andrea Marcon, at Mozartwoche Salzburg, the Basel Theater, at Concertgebouw Amsterdam and with the orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala di Milano, among others. Various engagements will bring the Soprano back to Basel Theater, the Handel Festival in Halle, the Enescu Festival in Bucharest and the „Theater an der Wien“ in the 2020/21and 2021/22 season.
